Clocking in at about 7 hours for fifteen dollars, it is obvious that there are games that offer more for less. DeathSpank's third bout on this console generation is a bit of a short one.

Players of previous games in the series may want to try it first as it seems like the type of game that may give you the (haven't I played this before?) feeling. If you are new to the series, you will likely enjoy this game. Besides all of the problems, this is still a worthwhile game to play. I know the game is supposed to be a little ridiculous, but that does not mean that we have to deal with dialogue that makes us shake our heads in shame. Also, some of the dialogue was a little cheesy. I do not like being restrained in a game I enjoy exploring. The game was often too linear feeling with invisible walls popping up everywhere like the plague. I did not find many problems with it, and those that I did find felt minuscule. The Baconing is a worthwhile purchase for fans of hack and slash games, especially those who enjoy lots of loot. If you haven't played the first two you might want to start with them as there are a lot of familiar faces and nods.
If you were a fan of the first 2 two I would recommend this. The combat system is a bit iffy, but it's made up for with humour, puzzles and great graphics. While I would find it hard to recommend this game to new players, if you enjoyed the first two I expect you'd like this one too. I warmed to the world of Spanktopia through its narrative and character, but then at the same time I felt dis-connected by the dull combat and uninspired cliché gameplay. Ultimately whilst playing this game I had a love/hate relationship with it. If you have played this or other DeathSpank games, let us know what you think in the comments below! Personally, I had a pretty decent time, having not played a DeathSpank game before, and I will be keeping my eye on this series. Overall the game is a pretty nice value for the buck, so give it a try if that last paragraph above sounds okay. This will be the step in which you will unlock any achievements you missed along the way i.e. This step can come before or after Insane Mode. On this step you will restart the game on Insane difficulty now that it is unlocked.
You will have to do another playthrough because "Insane Mode" can not be played until completion of the campaign on any difficulty. On this step you will simply launch the game and have one goal only: to complete the game unlocking as many achievements as you can along the way. The only way to restore balance is to travel to the Flames of Bacon and destroy 5 of the thongs. In the Baconing, Deathspank summons the Anti-Spank, by wearing all 6 thongs.
